Before you throw those used shoes in the trash, consider donating them to a charity or using them toward a good cause!
SAN FRANCISCO — StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, is launching the Take Off Your Boots campaign to collect shoes for the charity Soles4Souls, and giving away tickets to the U2 360° Tour to those who participate. From May through July, StubHub with the help of Hard Rock Cafe, will host events in Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle to collect new or gently used shoes. In exchange for donating a pair of shoes at these events, fans will receive a pair of U2 tickets.
I bet this guy wouldn't mind that they were a little worn....All over the world (and in the United States), there are people who would be happy to enjoy your discarded shoes. Soles4Souls® is a shoe charity that collects gently worn shoes and monies to provide shoes to those in need. The donation of shoes gives someone the hope for a better tomorrow. Donating shoes to Soles4Souls shoe charity is a great way to recycle shoes. Donate shoes today.
April 14th- April 20th, Crocs partnered with organizations in Haiti to distribute shoes to and support the people who were affected by the earthquake. Crocs donated around 10,000 pairs of shoes to long time partner, Unicef, after the earthquake hit in Haiti. These shoes were distributed to children throughout Port Au Prince who are living in Displaced Person’s Camps, schools, Child Protection locations (Child Friendly Spaces) and Residential Care units. In Haiti this week we donated hundreds of these shoes to children living in the displaced persons camp outside of Port Au Prince. Crocs Cares program manager Melissa, states:”We donate shoes in order to provide protection for the these kids’ feet and to those children who may never be able to acquire a new pair of shoes. When you hand these children a new pair of brightly colored shoes you see the excitement in their faces and their eyes light up. I even saw shoes on kids that we took to Haiti 5 years ago!”
