I received two samples of products from Vaska's home laundry product line: Herbatergen and Oxygenbleach.
Herbatergent liquid laundry detergent uses real lavender and potent botanical cleaning agents to clean clothing and linens effectively without harmful chemicals. I used this to clean the bed sheets, and they felt and smelled amazing after the wash! Herbatergent is available in Light Lavender or Scent Free, and is free of the traditional chemicals that damage fabrics and cause skin irritation. $9.99 for 48oz and $15.99 for 96oz.
Oxygenbleach is a natural, chlorine free bleach that makes whites sparkle and keeps color garments bright. I used this to clean a regular load of whites and a separate load of darks. The whites came out looking noticeably fresher than I remember, and both loads came out completely clean and free of stains and odors. Oxygenbleach's ingredients include hydrogen peroxide, plant based surfactants and filtered water. $6.99 for a 48 oz bottle.
Vaska is among a select number of companies that have earned recognition by the US Environmental Protection Agency's Design for the Environment Program. In 2008, Vaska was awarded "champion" status - the highest level of recognition under the EPA's Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative.
